The opening reception for “Here in This World” was Saturday night! This was a two-person show featuring oil paintings by Ellen Sapienza and myself at the Schmidtberger Fine Art Gallery in Frenchtown, NJ. This was my first time ever having a show of this caliber in a real gallery!!! I was extremely honored and thrilled to have my work hanging next to Ellen’s; she is an incredibly artist whom I deeply admire. She is the kind of artist whose paintings make me want to paint more!
Here’s a 20 second video of the show, before the guests arrived, so you can see how colorful and happy the gallery felt. (To watch, just click on my “Butter” painting below.)

So many people came to the show, even though it was a dark, cold, rainy night! I was especially touched and grateful to have so many friends drive all the way from Easton (40 minutes!) just to see this show. I just feel so lucky to live in Easton, because the art community here is so supportive. Even my Easton artist friends who couldn’t make the opening sent me tons of encouragement in other ways, which certainly helped me feel more confident.
Photos with a few special friends: my Mom, Doug, and Mary Beth. So many more friends came, I just didn’t get photos of everyone. I’m feeling over-the-moon grateful though!
And…drum roll…so far, THREE of my paintings have sold! These include “Butter,” “I love you as you are,” and “Fresh Figs” (below).
Ellen and I will be doing an Artist Talk on Sunday, December 16th, from 3-4:30 pm! This is an RSVP event, so please let me or John Schmitberger know if you plan to attend.
