My kids are teenagers now, ages 13 and 16. They are back-to-school, with lots of needs and activities. It’s such a busy time for everyone: Ian is traveling a lot for work, and I’ve overextended myself by taking on too many commitments. (Probably why I’m sick now, in bed with a bad cold, forced to rest.)
Recently I have had lots of opportunities to sketch and paint my kids. The reason is, they want me to give them money. So…I’ve been paying them to pose for me! Win-win!
Taking time to draw my kids helps me slow down and appreciate this stage of parenthood. I feel really lucky to have these wonderful teenagers in my life.
